Overcoming Limiting Beliefs

overcoming limiting beliefs

Overcoming limiting beliefs has been a hot topic over the last few years.

Shamans believe that reality is simply a projection of our internal belief structures.

For example, if you believe that you are not skilled enough for a job, then you will most probably fail the job interview.

To change our reality we simply need to change our beliefs.

What are limiting beliefs?

Limiting beliefs, also called self-limiting beliefs, are the stories we tell ourselves and keep up trapped in fear, suffering, and illness.

They are the excuses we tell ourselves and stop us from creating our desirable destiny.

Usually, they are subconscious, so we do not even notice them.

Common limiting beliefs

Limiting beliefs affect all aspects of our lives, such as health, career, and relationships.

This state of mind is universal and can hold us back in any area.

The most common limiting beliefs are the following:

  • I am not good enough.
  • I do not deserve love.
  • I am too old/young.
  • I do not have enough time.
  • I do not have enough money.

For instance, if you believe that you are too old, you will make most of your choices based on this state of mind.

So, you may stop pursuing your dreams, exercise less and socialize less.

How to identify limiting beliefs?

Limiting beliefs are often subconscious, so it might be challenging to notice them.

An easy way to identify a limiting belief is by paying attention to the excuses you make.

Next time you say to yourself “I do not have enough time to go to the gym”, ask yourself: Is it true? Or it is simply a limiting story that you tell yourself for years?

The following exercise will help you identify your limiting beliefs:

Write a sentence that starts with the phrase “If I __________, then I will__________”.

Below are some examples:

“If I get more money, then I will travel to Argentina

“If I lose weight, then I will find love

The first blank in the sentence is the limiting belief and the second blank is your desire.

Change limiting beliefs

Usually limiting beliefs are formed because of trauma and wounds.

For example, if you have been bullied at school, your limiting beliefs might be “I am not strong enough.”, “I do not deserve love.”

With Shamanic Healing practices we clear the imprints (bundles of dark energy) of trauma/wounds from the Luminous Energy Field (LEF) and switch your beliefs structure to a version that works for you.

Before (Limiting belief): “I do not deserve love and respect.”

After (New version of the belief): “I am love.” “I am surrounded by love.”

If you think that limiting beliefs are holding you back, Shamanic Healing practices can help you switch them to a version that works for you!
